PTI and ELE card

I have to say that I LOVE the way this card turned out! I actually stamped the PTI images months ago and just had it sitting in my scrap pile and just the other day put it together with the snowflake eyelets from Eye-Lets Etc. These are my very favorite eyelets (so far) and I think they compliment the snowflake serenade stamps very well. The going gray, real red and sahara sand are some of my favorite colors to work with...I just love this card.

Hope you all had a wonderful week, mine did get better as the week went on. Hubby is going in for a consultation to schedule the surgery early next week, so now I have that to look forward to. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for letting me know you enjoy what I have to share!

What a LONG night!!!

Sorry, nothing to post today except to tell you about my wonderfully exciting night! We had dinner, which was SO good! They spoiled us so much with some champagne and too many desserts (which we took home almost all of) and a wonderful steak dinner....yummy! On our way home hubby started to have terrible stomach pains that would not go away and shortly after we got home he started to get sick from the pain. So after about 2 hours of this (some of that was waiting to hear back from the nurse), I could not handle much more and took him to the ER where we stayed until 3am! The Doctor we saw did an ultrasound and believes hubby has gallstones (which we saw at least 4 of on the ultrasound) and should have his gallbladder removed. So, today we have been trying to catch up on the much needed sleep and waiting to hear what our Dr. wants us to do, we assume another ultrasound or maybe an mri or something like that is in order and then who knows!

Thanks for the sweet comments for my DD and her card, she really loved reading them!!!

Happy Anniversary Chris

Today is my 12 year anniversary and this is the card my youngest made for my hubby and I. I think it is a beautiful card and it is so very special because I saw how much she enjoyed making it! She asked as she was making it if I would put it up on my blog and of course I had to say yes!!! I did make a card for my hubby, but I can't put it up yet :)

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday, we are getting ready to go to dinner at the Capital Grille in LoDo.

2 Sketches 4 You

Here is my card (even a day earlier than usual) for Laura's great sketch! I am having so much fun using up some of my scraps :) These are not normal colors for me to put together, but in the end it worked out great!

I used cardstock and chipboard flowers from SU!, eyelets and sticker from Eye-Let's Etc, misc. ribbon and my souffle pens in white and purple on and around the flower.

Thanks for checking in today, I am trying to work on things to post here while I work on my DT stuff for ELE. Jen H. and I get to come up with the first challenge, so make sure you look for it on the ELE site the middle of August! There are also a few other things to look for starting August 1st, so keep checking in here and at the ELE blog.

Heidi Grace card

This is a card I made a few days ago and I have to say that I LOVE the way it turned out!!! The colors go together so much better IRL, such a pretty card. The main image is a rub on by Heidi Grace and I got it at Archivers a few weeks ago. I used my nesties for the white and blue layers (LOVE those nesties!!!)

I have decided that this is really my style, and I love it! I am not one who can make tons of layers and different patterns work for me....this is me and my style! Let me know what type of style you are, I am very curious to see if there are a lot like me or just a few. Thanks for all of your comments, they always bring a smile to my face :)

Paper Askew Inspiration Challenge

I finally am getting back into finishing cards in time for the challenges!! This is one I made for the beautiful inspiration picture at Paper Askew. I am still not sure I love how it turned out, even though it was what I was planning on doing.....oh well, I am sure it will grow on me. You can't see it very well, but on the side it says "grateful".

The majority of the card is from my scrap bin, slowly chipping away at that pile:) I did use some silver triangle eyelets from Eye-Let's Etc. for the ribbon to thread through for the lattice effect (at least that was my intention) I am having a lot of fun incorporating all of the fun different types into my projects, keep checking back to see what else I can do with them :)

Hope you all have a great day and maybe I will get some more pages posted soon!!!

Kazan's Sketch

Here is the card I made for this weeks sketch, I really love how it turned out. It does not follow the sketch exactly, but it is only a starting point!!! The papers are all SU! and I got this ribbon and the flower sticker at the top at Michaels in the $1 bins. Not sure if you can see my little snail along the buttons, but he is there, he is one of the many designs of eyelets you can get from eye-lets etc.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend, we are gearing up for another pool party tomorrow. Let's hope I can create a little bit more before I have to clean up my area for the guests ;)

Happy Birthday Papa (Ron)

Today is my wonderful FIL's birthday. We got together last night to celebrate and give him his gift (of course I forgot to get a picture of that) and card. Sorry about the picture of the card, we were leaving and I had to take it quickly.

I just kind of started playing with this card, not sure what the finished product would be, I am still not sure I love how it turned out, but I do like it! I used the top of a cupcake box that I got from my BBB Pam (might have to take a picture of it so you understand what I am talking about) and used 4 different inks with a sponge for the middle. I then stamped the cake image and added the green paper along the bottom which I stamped Happy Birthday on. I have a lot of these felt stars which are not too feminine so I used those to finish off the card. I was trying to channel in Kazan's sketch for this week, but don't think I got close enough to make it count. Oh well, it worked for the occasion and I know he loved it!

There are still a few days left to enter for some blog candy, the pile of stuff is starting to get bigger :)

Hope you had a great day and I will leave you with some pics of my girls in a mashed potato eating contest from last night.....

Hello and a Challenge

I seem to always be a day late in life, and this is another example..... I made this card for the 2 Sketches 4 you for last week and did not get it up on Saturday as I originally planned to do. Of course, I had the picture taken but had to go to the Doctor to have my wrist and hand xrayed, so that put getting it uploaded before we headed out for the evening, not happen! Oh well, I really like how it turned out so I am going to post it anyway :)

I found this hello stamp in a little set by scenic route (it also has thanks and 2 designs) at my LSS and knew I needed to use it right away!!! I also got the dp there as well, love the bursts of color on the scallop piece, I will have to get the exact name of the paper and update this later.

Now for the challenge from Eye-lets Etc.
We would like to kick July off with a bang and have some fun. During the month of July create something...anything the sky is the limit, but you must incorporate eyelets into your project. Bonus points if you use actual Eye-Lets Etc products, but you must list them on your credits. Make sure you link your creations by July 3oth at midnight MST. Enter as much as you like all month long! We will announce the winner of the BIG mystery prize worth $50 in retail value on August 1st!! Lets see your eyelets!!!
Click here for the actual post you will link your creations to on the Eye-lets Etc. blog. GOOD LUCK!!!

Grateful

Only 1 more day until my BIG news!!!! Can you tell that I am excited? My kiddos are spending the night with my parents, but of course the hubby is playing golf.....so I get to be by myself for awhile and try to be creative!! Wish me luck!

Onto the card, I love the way it came together. I started with a die cut from Creative Memories, I am not even sure they still sell these, like I said before I am trying to use stuff up. I used my nesties on this card (love those things, can't wait to get some other shapes and the NEW bracket ones too!!) I used a sponge on the oval layer with bashful blue ink and stamped "grateful" in white craft ink along the bottom of the card. Hope you like it as much as I do!!!

Have a wonderful day, I am off to shop for some blog candy goodies :)

Dawn

BTW...did you notice my picture with my bio? I really hate having my picture taken and had a hard time finding one that I liked enough to use for all of you to see. Hope I did a good enough job with it :)

Made With Love

I can't believe that I am actually keeping my word from yesterday, here is a page that was done for my Christmas album. I know I said I could probably not do any one picture pages, but now that I have done one it is so much easier to do it. As I was just working on the album some more, I did another one!!! So, onto the page, this is from 2004 and the girls are making some sugar cookies for Santa to eat (of course I can't find the pictures of the finished cookies or the letter to Santa which is why this ended up as only one picture on this page) I wish I could take credit for the borders on this page, but my very good friend Bobbie made it and sold it at a border sale a couple of years ago. As I am working on this album, I am trying to use up all the borders that I bought years ago along with all the papers and stickers.....why is it so easy to keep buying Christmas stuff even when you have more than enough??? I would have to say the same for stamps, when it comes to Christmas you can never have enough!

Check back tomorrow to see my other one picture page, and let me know what you think about this one. Thanks for checking in today and don't forget to keep checking back for some blog candy once I hit 1,000 hits on my counter AND for my exciting news on Thursday :)

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, they make me smile!!!!
