Sweetest Birthday

This is another Clean & Simple sketch card that we made at my last class in August. Since August is my birthday month, we had a birthday card class where we made 3 different bday cards....I thought it was a good idea! I really love this cupcake stamp, just don't use it enough!

Star Birthday Celebrations

Clean & Simple is a blog on my blogroll that I check just about every day, the style they have is just what I like! This card is from a sketch they had on there awhile ago, and I am sure I will use it again and again, especially when I have some dp to use up! All of the dp on this card is from the To The Nines collection, very nice paper! I figured this was a very masculine bday card, and we can always use more of those in our stashes!!!

Happy Birthday Circles

I am very glad that I bought this stamp set (as I am sure you can tell by now) since I seem to keep reaching for it. Of course I am all for showing my guests how you can use the same stamp set for many different cards so they are more willing to buy a set like this one! At the time of this class I did not have the blue stamp pad so we just went all pink with the ink (hee hee) and added the blue for an accent color. The Happy Everything set is another that I love, it makes great cards even better!

Celebrate Circles

I love looking at SCS for ideas when I have a new stamp set, there are so many great ideas! I was looking for some more ideas for the Circle Circus set and came upon a card very similar to this in a few different colors. I really love the razzleberry color so I decided to use that on this card. Again, a very simple, clean card.....seems to be my "thing"!

Friend to Friend Topiary

I saw this on SCS when I was prepping for my July stamp camp and just had to "copy" some of it. I used the curly label punch cut in half for the planter, I thought it worked very well! We used all the new "in" colors and the circle circus stamp set, very simple card!

Hello...

This is another stamp camp card.....I LOVE this stamp so much!!! I saw a similar card and thought this stamp would work perfectly and I was correct! As we all end up doing, I have been hoarding dp forever and needed to start using some of it up so I could buy more....sneaky, but it works! I am thinking of doing this exact card in different colors and with other dp, so very easy!

Thanks for stopping by today and I do hope you will be back again soon!

For You Leaves

This is a card I made a few months ago and did not get a good picture of, so I had to retake the picture! I LOVE this card, so very simple but with some nice elements added and the color combo is awesome!!! I have been looking at a lot of samples over the past 6 months and believe I came upon a sketch like this during that time, and I will be using it again! It is so sad that this set is retired as I love it, but I intend on keeping it for awhile and getting to use it again in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

Thinking of You

My goodness! Where has the time gone??? I meant to have this one posted awhile ago and just saw that it is waiting to be posted....oops! I still have a few more cards from my classes to post on here with another 3 to add from last night....got to get back into routine! Of course it would help to have a camera that would work and not need to borrow the daughters camera!

So, for the card, I made this a few months ago at a friends house to show off this set.....It happens to be one of my favorite images with so many occasions to use it for! We used blender pens with the ink pads to color the tree and leaves (they were very kind and did not mind that much work) Then we stamped the sentiment and layered it onto the card. Very simple but pretty.

Thanks for stopping by and I will try to get those other cards posted very soon, so make sure and check back! Thanks for all the comments as well!!!

Butterfly Birthday

This is a card I made up earlier this year and just found on my computer....love when that happens. I used the butterfly die from SU and then ran those thru my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder, added a little swirl that I pierced and a sentiment.....easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back soon with some more cards from my last class.

silhouette card

This picture is not that great, could not get it to focus correctly....but you can still see how great the card turned out. We made this card at my last card class, tonight is my card class for this month and I have some awesome cards to share next week from it! This card is made with all SU products and the retired Central Park set, such a simple but beautiful card. I left the sentiment off of my card so I can use it for anything.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

Continuation Card

My daughter completed Elementary school in early June and this is the card I made for her. This card is just so her, she LOVED it! We gave her a nice Fossil watch for her gift and then the family took her out for a late breakfast, it was a very nice day! I still can not believe that she is done with 6th grade....she is growing up too fast!!!!

The brad inside the bow is the only thing that attaches the image, so it rotates around. I used the labels one nestie for the pink layer and I stamped the skull and sentiment in Stazon on acetate.

Thanks for stopping by!

Friend to Friend Flowers

At my last stamp camp we made this cute card using the Fifth Ave Floral SU stamps. We used the masking technique to make the rose pop....so pretty!
I am gearing up for my next card class next week and in the mean time I have the other 2 cards from the last class to post along with my daughter's 6th grade continuation card...guess you will be seeing more of me over the next couple of weeks!
Thanks for stopping by!

12x12 Color Block Page

Hi there! Glad you came back to check out what else I have been doing! I did not get this done in May as I was supposed to, but sometimes life happens and you just need to go with the flow! For my very last CC&M project I selected a color block page in Double Mates Heritage. This type of die cut can be very helpful when working on scrapbooks and it really helps cut down on design time. I made this page for my 2003 album, I try to get caught up to current dates and then work on older albums so 2003 will be my next to attack when I get caught up! I can't believe how big my girls are now compared to these pictures!

Sorry for the bad angle and glare on the pic, it is hard to get a good shot of scrapbook pages with all those pictures!!! With summer vacation starting Friday for the girls I am not sure how much I am going to get posted on here, but I will try to do something when I can.

Have a great day!

Nugget Tin (box)

Hello again, glad to see you came back! I am having so much fun being a guest designer for CC&M this month...so many fun things to play with. When I was over looking at all of the other great samples Terry has, I came up with this idea and am so happy with how it turned out!! This is an oval top box that I turned into a nugget tin...sort of! I was able to fit 10 Hershey nuggets inside that I covered with lables stamped with my favorite PTI stamps Limitless Lables! On the inside of the box I tried to make the nuggets fit better by adding a piece of So Saffron cardstock with scoring, but if you left that out you could fit another 3 nuggets to make it snug.

I love the idea of making a bunch of these up as gifts or favors for a party...very cost effective! I do hope you like what I came up with and make sure you go and check out Creative Cuts & More to see this box and MANY others!!!! My next project has to do with scrapbooks, so make sure you stop by and check it out.

*also, I added the acetate to the window as it does not come with any.

Baby Boy Card & Gift

I have a baby shower to attend soon for a very dear friend (who I remember her mother finding out she was pregnant with many moons ago!) and against tradition I got her gift and card done WAY in advance! That never happens!!!! Creative Memories has a minutes album and I had an extra one from when I was a consultant, so I used that to start with. I also used some of the baby boy paper from 2 kits for the pages and some of the large letter stickers for the card. The card actually came from Creative Cuts & More, a great way to help the creative mojo at times! I love the rounded corners on this card and the window (it came that way, no adjustments on my part) and I just added a piece of blue cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder and then put some of the stickers on! Super easy, but very cute!

So for my next DT project I will be using one of my favorite PTI stamps, make sure you come back this weekend to see what I have come up with!

Thanks for looking and I appreciate your sweet comments, they make my day!

2nd Guest Designer project

I am back, a little later than planned, but here it is! I wanted to make up some type of box to hold a tie in for a gift....typical Father's Day gift. Terry and I discussed it and decided that the cupcake box dimensions would work best, and we were right! I made some diamonds for the sides and paper pierced around them and just added some ribbon along the top of the box. I also used the insert on the bottom of the box so the tie would sit higher, you could always add a pair of dress socks in here too!

Thanks for stopping by today and I will be back again either this weekend or early next week with my next project for CC&M.

Teacher Appreciation

This week is a chance to thank the teachers and staff at the school my girls go to, so this year I made the scallop envelope boxes for all of them....6 this year! Both girls have rotating core classes, so they see all of the 4th and 6th grade teachers each day. It is nice for them to get used to changing classes and teachers, but boy...making all of those gifts was a bit of a challenge for me.

I used my polka dot paper from PTI which the girls picked what colors each teacher would get and then they picked out the base color. Once they were assembled, they helped me pick out the ribbon for the top of the boxes. We filled them up with 1 post it note pad and some chocolates which the teachers loved!!! One of the teachers wants to know how to make these, so she might become a new customer...how fun!

Thanks for stopping by today and this weekend I will be posting my second project for Creative Cuts & More, so make sure you come back!

I was asked to make a wedding cake for a cousin and today is the big day! Here is the finished cake....I usually don't do cakes, this is only my 2nd one for a wedding. I do hope that the bride likes it!
Tomorrow I will show you what I made the teachers for appreciation week!

1st Guest Designer project

Here is my first project that I came up with about a month ago when I started to figure out what I was going to do. My theme for this month is Father's Day so since my Dad is Mr. Fix It, I had to come up with a clever gift card holder! I am in love with this stamp set from SU! and the apron card from Creative Cuts & More, they work so well together! I got a little crafty with all the tools that I cut out (it really only took a few minutes to color and cut them out) and decided to make the tape measure clip onto the outside of the apron....it turned out SO cute! There is paper piercing between the tools, it is just hard to see. My husband is loving this project and the other one that is finished...but you have to come back later this week to see that one!
*I do see that my girlfriend Jen who is also a designer for CC&M has a very similar card to this one posted....great minds think alike right!!!!

New projects coming soon....

I got my Creative Cuts & More order yesterday and already have one project done! I am going to a crop this weekend with my Mom and I got something fun to play with from CC&M...you might be seeing more of it often as I LOVE it!!!

Just wanted to let you know that I am on the way back to normal and should be posting stuff more often soon.

What a long week!

I was hoping to keep up with some new posts but had to put that on hold for now. My FIL passed away last Saturday after a long 18 month battle with leukemia. I am a very lucky person to have known him and also for the fact that both my hubby's family and mine have gotten along so very well over the past 13 years! We have been able to spend every holiday together as one family which has been very nice for us and our girls. He will be missed, but we know that he is in a much better place and are glad he is no longer suffering!

I do hope you will forgive me for not posting right now, but I will be back soon as I just placed my order for my upcoming guest designer spot with Creative Cuts and More...

Bridal Shower Card

Yikes it has been a long time since I have posted!!! I made this card in early February for a shower I went to, her colors were blue and brown so of course the card had to be blue and brown! I started with some blue Bazzil paper, used my new curvy rectangle nesties and some rubons from SU! and this is how it ended up. I really love the way it turned out, and it only took about 10 minutes once I decided what I was doing!
Thanks for stopping by today and I do hope to be back again very soon with something new!

Thank You Card

Today's card is one that I made about a month ago thinking I would use it for my card class, but decided not to. I really love the color combo of the Pirouette Pink and Riding Hood Red with white and the Heartfelt Thanks flower is one of my favorites.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday!

Celebrate

Another card from a class I did 2 weeks ago, similar to the one I posted yesterday. I used the Baja Breeze paper and ink along with Very Vanilla paper and then added Riding Hood Red, So Saffron and Regal Rose for the flowers. I was so very sad to see that the sentiment set was retiring as I love it so much, so of course I had to use it for my last few card classes. I got the idea for this card from Splitcoast Stampers, not sure who it was, but Thank You for sharing!!

Today we are hanging out and getting caught up on laundry since my wonderful Dad came and fixed our washer the other night....crazy how much laundry can pile up when you can't do some every day! I do hope to get a chance to work on my scrapbooks soon, I hate seeing that stuff pile up on the computer and my craft area. Oh, we also have to go and find a frame for DD's first place ribbon and certificate from the spelling bee! Here is the picture of her holding them both (her friend was giving her a thumbs up in the picture) Sorry for the white erasing on the picture, I could not get the blur to work the way I wanted it to.

Misc. card

I really love the colors on this card, all but the chocolate chip ribbon were from Kristina's color challenge last week...hard to see the pink flowers though. We made these last week as well and the ladies loved how they turned out since they were able to put a sentiment on them for what they wanted. I left mine blank for now, just not sure what I will end up using it for....

Sorry for the delay on this post, we have had a busy week around here. On Wednesday my oldest daughter won her school spelling bee and I got to be there to watch!!! She is supposed to go onto the district round now, but that is the day we will be flying home from Mexico so her alternate is going instead. I am just so very proud of her and happy that my plans changed so that I could be there! Pictures coming soon....

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello again

Yikes!!! Not such a good start to the year, but no point beating myself up over it now! I have a few days worth of cards coming, so make sure you keep coming back!

Today's card is one that we made last week at my card class. I LOVE the way it turned out, just like I thought it would! I finally got my hands on a swiss dots folder for my cuttlebug so of course I had to put it to use right away! We used the You & Moi stamp set with chocolate chip ink. Such a cute and simple card...oh yeah! I did get the idea from FTL (Clean and Simple on my blogroll) that is the best place for ideas when you get stuck!

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back tomorrow with some more....till then!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Welcome 2009!!!  Let's hope this year turns out to be a little better than last year!  I know one thing for sure, I am going to enjoy some nice weather in Mexico in February, so this year can't be all bad!!!  Let's hope this is a good start to my blogging habits for the year also, I kind of like doing my posts in advance, might keep me on target for a few things during the year!
