Flippin' Birthday Card

I am back today with another item I made for the Creative Cuts & More design team.  This is the card I made my youngest for her 10th birthday.  Her favorite color is purple these days, so of course it had to have LOTS of purple just for her.  I used the cupcakes from SU, my cuttlebug swirls folder and some brads and pretties from one of my Prima kits I have had for a few years...yikes!   I also colored the cupcakes and stand with my souflee pens (LOVE those things) It turned out to be the perfect birthday card for my baby, she loved it!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and leaving me some "love"!

Have a wonderful and SAFE New Year celebration tonight!!!!

Hey Cupcake!

This is a little cupcake box that I made last month for the Creative Cuts & More design team call.  I had the box for a few months before I did anything with it, but I really like the way it turned out.  I took my swirls roll stamp for the bottom of the box and used a few rubons that I had and then for the top I just took some ribbon and wrapped it around and added the sticker on top....super easy and cute!
I  hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to 2009!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some "love"!

Scrap4Life Layout

I am back today with a layout that I did this week from S4L's December sketch challenge, you should go and check it out if you have not done so already! I LOVE the way this page turned out, and then of course my mojo checked out once I finished it.....I have not been able to complete another page since. I think that is my new record, one page in about 2 months...yuck!!!

I used one of the holiday paper kits from Creative Memories from a few years ago, I think it is called Candy Cane. For the Santa letters I used some FaLaLa stickers from MM that I bought at least a month ago and forgot about...can you believe that!?!?! When I actually attach this to a page I am going to journal around the outside of the big blue piece since I cut it down to about 10x10 for the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today :)

CC&M bag

Here is a bag that I decorated for the Creative Cuts & More design team call, I am happy to say that I will be doing a month next year for this great company!!! I have a few other items that I made and I will post them in the next few days.

I got this die cut bag from CC&M months ago and did not have a chance to do anything with it until last month. It is VERY simple, but that is my style, so I went with it. I used some BG Figgy Pudding DP and some of the stickers from the pack. I think this is masculine enough to give to the bus driver for the holidays, filled with goodies of course ;)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Masculine Card Set

When I had my card class a few weeks back I had some left over kraft cs ready for cards so I decided to use them up. I took the remainder of the dp that I had cut into and made these last 3 cards. So in all I had 5 different cards all from one sheet of dp that I used both sides of :) In my book you can never have too many masculine birthday cards, so I will be doing this again with some more of this great Manchester dp from Stampin Up!

Have a wonderful holiday season and I hope to be back with some more stuff soon! Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments!!

Happy 12th Birthday Angel!!!!

Today is my oldest daughters 12th birthday, boy that makes me feel old just typing that ;) Her birthday began at 3:49 am when she was delivered by c-section after being breech and refusing to turn....it was only the first time she would be so stubborn :) I really can not believe that was 12 years ago today, a Tuesday morning and we ended up having Thanksgiving in the hospital that year. I am so very blessed to have her in my life and can't wait to celebrate this special day with her always!

Happy Birthday my sweet angel!
Love,
Mommy

10 card wonder cards

Hi everyone! Hope you have had a nice couple of days, mine have been fun and busy!! Our scavenger hunt at the mall went well and then our cousins took the girls shopping for a few outfits, so that took an extra hour or so... The other day we turned in our 10 card wonder cards for the Eye-Let's Etc. design team and I wanted to share them here. We were given 5 sheets of cs, 1 12x12 sheet of double sided dp and some embellishments along with an 8.5x11 sheet with a grid on the back to cut all the blue paper for the cards. I really liked the challenge of having all the paper cut to specific sizes, took me out of the box a bit! This card turned out to be my favorite of them all, but I like them all of course!

I have a few more cards that I will try to share over the next couple of days, so check back when you get a chance! Thanks for stopping by and for the sweet comments :)

Happy 10th Birthday Baby!!!!

Today is my baby's 10th birthday (isn't she gorgeous?! sorry it is kind of blurry, not quite awake yet!) I just really can't believe that 10 years ago almost exactly, around 11, my water broke while we were getting ready to stroll the mall (all those great tricks to induce labor ;) We spent most of the afternoon watching funny movies and just hanging out, by about 4 I was ready for some pain medication and by 7 I was pushing and there she was at 7:33 pm!! What a great day and I hope I never forget these details or miss getting to see her on this very special day!!!!

This week leading up to it has been kind of tough on me. First thing Monday morning I found out some news about myself that has turned my thinking around a bit about life and how short it could be. So with that in mind I have spent time this week trying to finish stuff up that has been sitting around only partly finished, because WHO knows when our last day will be???? Sorry to get all morbid, especially on such an important day...

I LOVE YOU BABY!!!!

Hugs,
Mommy

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Today is my Dad's birthday and we are going to swing by to see him today and then celebrate with my brother and his girlfriend on Sunday. I made this card from the scraps of the 12x12 paper I used for my card class last night and the baja breeze paper I had left over. I used a retired stamp set for the sentiment, but I really liked the way it looked so I went for it.

That is all for today, thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Class cards

Here are the 2 cards I had for my card class tonight. I had a VERY small turnout, but that will not keep me from trying again next month. It is very hard to get people together during November and December with all the holidays and parties going on :)

This was my very first try with an acetate card and I just love the way it turned out. I used Mellow Moss and Riding Hood Red together with Whisper White cs, great color combo and of course my new favorite xmas stamp Snow Swirled!

I really like this masculine birthday card that I came up with, so nice when you think of something and it turns out like you planned!!! My dad's birthday is tomorrow HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!! (the 13th) so I actually made a little bit different card for him with the scraps from the 12x12 paper I cut to make the rest of these. I might post that card tomorrow if I remember to take a picture before giving it to him.

Thanks for stopping by, sorry for the long delay but that is how it goes sometimes!!

Birthday Card

So, I tried to do both the card challenge for Angel and the color challenge for Kristina....not so sure I like the card. I know I will use it, or one of my girls will :) I also went back to a card I made last year for Angel's challenges and re-made it with this card this year. There is some crystal effects on the sprinkles and the candle (which is pumpkin pie along with the ribbon)

Off to the Dr. with hubby, so gotta run!

Gate Fold Card

Now I realized when I was taking the picture that I did not follow Angel's sketch exactly, but the sketch reminded me of a gate fold card....so I went with it. Since both of my daughters have birthdays this month, I figured I should get started on birthday cards for them. This one is for my oldest, she loves black....and cupcakes! I used my souffle pens to color the image on the bazzil cs and layered it on the white cs. Pretty simple card and the scor-pal made this super easy to do, might have to do more of these soon.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know how I am doing!

Bird Challenge

Today's challenge was to use birds, and this is the only stamp I own that is a bird. My BBB Pam is having a birthday this week, so I just had to make a card for her that I will give her when we get a chance to meet up! (Hi Pam!)

I used Kraft cs and my pattern paper pack (hostess) along with craft white and real red inks and real red ribbon.

Have a great day, thanks for checking in!

A bit behind....

Where did the weekend go??? All the sudden it was Monday morning and I was getting the girls off to school! At least they only have a 4 day week this week, so only 3 more early mornings and then we can sleep in again :)

The first card is from today's sketch from Angel....I must make sure to do other challenges once this is over to keep my mojo from leaving me ;) I don't usually make cards in this shape, this one is 3 x 8 and would fit into a long envelope. I have had the thicker frame for awhile and thought it would work good with this sketch along with the sentiment from the hostess set (love that set!) I used Cranberry Crisp, Basic Black and Whisper White paper on this. Very simple but beautiful card.

The second card is another sketch that Angel posted, and I really love the way it turned out. I was going to go with all red(riding hood red) and green(wild wasabi) but felt that it needed a splash of another color so I added some pink pirouette snowflakes.

The last card is a one layer card that took me forever to be happy with. These are my favorite types of cards, but they can be tricky. I just used my pocket silhouettes set with black ink and added the ribbon for a splash of color.

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!!!

Masculine Challenge

I did not end up with a lot of time to play today, so this is what I came up with at 9:30 tonight. Very easy, but I love the way it looks!!! Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween :)

Don't forget to stop by Angel's blog for the info on how to play along, and today she posted all the goodies that you can win so far!!!

Sketch Challenge

Today's card is based on another sketch challenge issued by Angel for her birthday celebration! If you have not played along yet, don't worry....just do what you can. I just took some more of my dp from last year, a tag in vanilla and stamped some of my new hostess stamps onto it. Very simple card, love this layout!

These are some more nugget boxes(click on them to see them larger) that I made for the girls' teachers for tomorrow. I also need to get a candy bar for the bus driver to go along with the card I have for him. We love our bus driver and teachers and want to let them know that we appreciate them!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Color challenge

Today was another color challenge, much easier than last time ;) I just got the new xmas paper from BG over the weekend and it worked great for the challenge of Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Real Red (Riding Hood Red for me) and Kraft. This paper is actually a bunch of triangles that you can cut out for trees, how perfect is that?! I really like the way it ended up!

This second item is a challenge I did for the ELE design team I am on, we were supposed to use something we would throw away and make something out of it. I chose a CD case, since most of my music is on itunes or my ipod I do not use them as much and had a stack sitting there. I took out the black part that holds the disc and turned it into a picture frame for hubby's desk. I LOVE how it turned out, exactly as I had planned....that never happens to me!!!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Sketch 5

Hello again, I am so happy that I have been able to stay caught up on both the challenges and my blog for a few days at least! Today was another sketch and I will probably use it again on a scrapbook page as it is a great layout. I again used some of my dp from last year and the Take Three stamp set (love that set) I used the scallop border punch to create the focal point and the bottom of the card. I made this card 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.... not sure that I love how this turned out, but I do like it and will gladly use it this holiday season!

Thanks for checking in and I do hope that you will join in the fun over at Angel's blog!!!

Bookmark

Here are my bookmarks, the first one is for my oldest daughter! I just finished the second one for my youngest who loves purple. I was going to make them similar, but found these stickers and decided to go with them instead. I used a brad in the ribbon on top to help keep it together, I am going to add another piece of paper on the back to make it sturdier and that will cover up my brad as well. The bookmark might seem a bit big to most people, but with my kiddos....it needs to be, much harder to lose that way ;)

Thanks for looking, check back again tomorrow to see what else Angel has challenged me with! Hey, better yet, check out her blog and play along...only 10 more days!!!!

Catching up!

This post has a few pictures to it as the title states, I am catching up on Angel's challenges. The cool thing is that once I get my bookmark posted in a few minutes, I will be caught up and can get extra chances to win all the goodies!!!

This first card is a color challenge....pretty in pink, old olive, bashful blue and real red....um, kind of tough! But when I was looking through my papers I came across this BG Figgy Pudding paper that had most of the colors, so I just put in on the pink card and added some more red and green to finish it off. At first I was not so sure of it, but it grew on me and now I love it!

The second card is from a sketch, it still seems a bit busy for me, but again....it has grown on me. I thought it would work nicely for a masculine birthday card and hubby agrees with me (so that always makes me feel better) Again I am using a lot of papers from last year, can't buy anymore until I use some of them up ;)

I really liked this challenge, it was ANYTHING Christmas and I had something in mind I wanted to try, so what better time? I thought that a pop up card with a picture on it would be a great xmas card to send out, but since I had never made a pop up card I needed to try one first. I realize that it is hard to read the words on the paper, should have stamped them in either black or white....but it was my first attempt, and these are so fun that I will be making more!

This card was another sketch, and can I tell you that I just love the way it turned out!!! Very simple layout and I LOVE these new stamps I got...both are hostess sets :)

Another fun challenge was something made with only scraps....pretty easy for me as I have a ton of scraps from over 12 years of crafting (not that many of my first scraps are still around, I just have a hard time throwing paper away...) Again, more dp from SU last year and I had the scallop circles sitting in there too, I just put a vellum scallop on top of the white so it was not too bright. I added some eyelets from ELE and a Christmas stamp, and there you have it...another xmas card done!

This card is based off another sketch....this card is my favorite by far!!!! I found this great paper at my LSS and I had to take 2 pics so you could see some of the glitter on the black paper (so sparkly!) A very simple card to make with the sketch, I will make more using all of these sketches I am sure!

Thanks for looking and I will post my book mark in a few minutes, so make sure to check that one out too!!!

3D Nugget Box

I LOVE making these little treat boxes! They are so easy and everyone loves to get the truffles inside :) My youngest is having a Legally Blond themed birthday party in November, so we are working on invites and party favors.....these might even work with lip gloss inside too (glad I thought of that!) So needless to say, all of the stuff MUST be some shade of pink....her signature color! Tomorrow I will share the invites that we have come up with, they are so cute, I am sure her friends will love them!

Open House cards

Only a week late, but here are my cards I had for my guests to make at my open house on Wednesday! I had a good turn out and we all had a great time together. I forgot how much fun it is to teach someone how to stamp, such a rush!!!

These cards turned out great, even though I was not sure of the second one right away. The first card is based on a card I saw on Splitcoast (THANK YOU) and I came up with the second one after staring at all the pieces for awhile. For the first card I used Chocolate Chip cs, More Mustard cs and Whisper White cs and then Close to Cocoa and More Mustard markers and some Chocolate Chip ribbon (from a ribbon share I did a couple of years ago) The second card is Basic Gray, Whisper White and Bashful Blue cs and white, gray and versa mark inks along with some white ep for the snowflakes, I finished it off with some of my old organdy ribbon....mostly because I have way too much of it!

Thanks for looking and I hope to get a few more things done in advance for some upcoming classes and will try to post them soon.

Sorry

I have been mia for the last week, but did get a chance to be creative over the weekend. I am just getting my camera to work for me again and then I will post what I have been up to. Next Wednesday is my Open House for Stampin Up, so I need to get a few things done for that. I have some good ideas, just need to get them done and ready for others to make.

Thanks for checking in and hopefully Thursday I will have some pics on here!

My BIG news!

Thanks for checking back to see what my news is, and without further ado.....I am signing up as a demonstrator for Stampin Up! Years ago I was a demonstrator for this great company, but it was not the right timing for me to make it work. Now I have the BEST person in the world as my upline....Pam from Paper Askew Studio. I think she is so very creative and together we come up with some great ideas, I just can't wait to see where this venture goes! This is going to be so much fun!!!!!

My prize!!

Last night I went to Pam's stamp camp and got my bag that I won from the 3D Challenge blog that she runs with her friend Carrie. So of course I had to put my winning project in the pocket right away and take a picture of it....can I just tell you how much I love this bag so far!!! If you are thinking about getting one of these, don't wait any longer....they are GREAT!!! Hopefully I will have some more crafty things to post soon, and I have some news to share on the 1st. Maybe tomorrow I will get something done while hubby goes to play golf with some work buddies :)

3D Design Challenge

The 3D ladies did it again, another great challenge. For this I made my own little idea book and xmas list, so sneaky huh?! I designed the front page (7 3/4" x 5") with fall colors, my favorite season and these colors are so great!! Then I made the back side with some christmas type colors, so when I am out shopping I can write stuff in there for gift ideas or if I already bought someone a gift (darn my memory for not keeping better track of this stuff without a list :) So inside there are some sheets of plain paper and when I see something that sparks an idea, I can pull that out and jot it down. Since I used ribbon to put it together, I can always take out the pages and put new ones in when I need to.

I hope you enjoy my little 3D project I made, I had a lot of fun putting it together. Have a wonderful day and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this :)

Blog Candy Alert

Last year I participated in the 31 sketch challenge leading up to Angel's birthday and she is thinking about doing it again this year....but needs a few more votes to convince her that people would participate! To play along you just need to make a card a day using the sketch she gives you each day, see easy peasy! I thought it was a great way to spark my mojo (no you do not have to make one each day, but why not?) I hope you will go check out her blog here and let her know you would love to play along for the whole thing or just play when you get a chance!!!

Don't forget to check out my last post below to see the other 3 cards I made :)

Cards

So, as I promised, here are the other 3 cards I made using the same stamps and paper/ink colors. I love how all 4 of the cards are different using the same elements!!! Thanks for stopping by today and showing me "love", I always appreciate your comments!!!!

Oldie but goodie!!!

It has been so long since I have posted that I thought it was a great time to pull out something I did awhile ago and share it with you all! I know, so sweet of me ;) I made this little ensemble as an end of year gift for one of the girls teachers. I used Cranberry Crisp and True Thyme papers and inks, love those colors together. I made a nugget box using all PTI stamps and then used my SU Baroque Motifs stamp set for the candle and card.

Tomorrow I will show you the other 3 cards I made using the same colors.....I just love them all so much!!!

Saturday, September 6, 2008

Wow!!! Another post!

2 posts in 2 days, I am on a roll!!! I had to make this card pretty quickly yesterday for my DD's BF birthday. I like the way it turned out, but it is so much more than what I am used to doing. As you can see I got some new Bella's from my LSS and just love them so much, now I just need to get a good coloring medium to use on them. I liked stamping them in the Close to Cocoa as it was not too stark against the white background. I used some watercolor pencils to fill her in, my cuttlebug folder for the background along with some of my nestabilities for the actual main image and the scallop behind it. I got to use my new punch and stamp from SU! also....all sorts of new stuff going on with this card.

Thanks for the comments on my last bag, I am so glad you all like it too! Now off to see if I can keep my mojo going for a bit longer, need to get some DT stuff done for ELE.

Happy Friday!!!

So I am back today with my second box I made for the 3DDC girls. Not that I really did much with it, I just LOVE how it turned out!!!! Again I used the Figgy Pudding paper and on the front layer I punched out the scallop oval, luckily the paper behind lined up perfectly. Then I punched out another oval on white paper after stamping "Joy" from PTI. When I was going to stamp this, I decided I did not want it to be bright red, so I first inked it up on the Real Red pad and then, without pressing too hard, inked it on the Close to Cocoa pad before stamping. Then I edged it with the cocoa pad and adhered it inside the punched out oval. For the life of me I could not get my ribbons to acuratley match up for the handles, oh well! I used some small silver brads to attach the ribbon and figure it would be cute to put a little xmas gift inside......maybe a homemade ornament or some other type of goodie like that.

Please let me know what you think about this box, I usually never get this excited over much of anything I make and can't wait to hear what you think!!!!

3DDC 1 sheet bag

I have finally been able to create a little bit today, and I had so much fun I made 2 of them! You will have to come back Friday to see what else I made (it happens to be my favorite, but I love them both) Of course I had to use some more Figgy Pudding paper from BG, I just LOVE this stuff (sorry for the blurry pics). For this first one I am showing you, I made a little topper for the bag from the left over paper and used some ribbon to tie it closed. I was going to stamp along the topper or do something to it, but it just looked so good on it's own that I left it.

Thanks for checking in to see what I have been up to, I hope that once I get settled in my new job my creative juices will keep me going!!! I do have a little project I am going to do for the ladies at my new job, just need to find some time to get to it.

3D Milk Carton

I am back with another 3D item for the 3DDC blog....a milk carton. Last week I made a sweet find at Hobby Lobby, a pack of Figgy Pudding papers for 40% off. So guess what I made my carton with? ;) This paper jumped out at me to be used, and it will work so well with my favorite holiday treat to make...Mint Oreo Truffle balls, yummo!!! I decided not to tape the top together so when I give this to a teacher, she will be able to get into the treats a little easier, so I used a clip that I just added some paper to and a ribbon. I am sure all the other cartons will be better, but I really love how this one turned out...just like I imagined! I did use a stamp from PTI inside the extra peppermint that says Holiday Treats, so cute.

The rest of this week might pass me by before I get another chance to be crafty, I started a new part time job yesterday, the girls are sick, hubby has surgery and my FIL is back in the hospital during his round of chemo. Way too much to deal with, but maybe that will fuel my mojo and make me want to escape and create for a bit. I hope you will see me again before I post my next 3D project, but if not, have a great week and Labor Day weekend!

3D Box TAKE 2!

*Updated - I forgot to link this up to the 3D blog, so this box did not make it into the judging...of course my boxes were not near as great as the others, but it was fun to try!*
I actually got it done....another 2468 box for the challenge! This one is actually a bit bigger than what it calls for, but I wanted more room to play. Of course I used my very favorite set Baroque Motifs, all along the sides is the big stamp which I embossed with clear sparkly powder. Then I took Wild Wasabi ink and sponged it over the embossing, stamped the small flowers in the same color along with the sentiment and larger flower. I used the ribbon to tie it all together. I thought it would be a nice gift box for a wedding gift or even favors from the bride and groom. Sorry for the bad pic, but I did just get it finished and that is the best lighting I could get for the time of day.
Thanks for looking!!!

White Fence Farm

I thought since I have not posted anything crafty for a few days that I would post a couple more pics from my birthday dinner. Here are the girls at the petting zoo part of the farm, the youngest would not get any closer than she did in this picture and the oldest was having a lot of fun feeding Tank the steer. I will try and get a crafty project up maybe later tonight....might try another 2468 box for Pam and Carrie's 3D Challenge blog! Guess I better get busy since I only have a few hours :)
