Miss You card

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been a little quite lately, just a lot going on around here. This is a card I made a few days ago with scraps from my overflowing bin of scraps. I really like the way this turned out, and the only stamping on it is the white dots I made with a pencil eraser and craft white ink. The main part of the card is actually paper I got from my LSS and I just love those colors together!!! I am trying to use up as many of the scraps I have saved over the years and I am making pretty good progress so far. Now if I could only keep my mojo going for more than a few hours I would be so happy!

I went to a crop on Saturday morning and got 10 pages done in my Christmas album, which is much more than the Saturday before. I will try to get some good pictures taken and put at least one up tomorrow, so come by and check it out.

I also have some SUPER EXCITING news to share later on this week, so check back for that too!!!!

Gosh, too many things to share.....I just realized earlier today that my hit counter is getting near 1,000, so look for some blog candy VERY soon!

Hugs
Dawn

Kazan's Sketch #3 and Caardvarks Think Pink!

Here is my take on this great sketch Kazan has for this week, totally cute! It was even better because I got to see her making her sample card in person....how fun!!! This card is also done with the Caardvarks color challenge of pink, so I decided to go all out with the pink :)

Also, there is so sweet blog candy being given away by Renee here....go on and check it out!!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for all of your comments, they make my day wonderful too :)

Oh, I almost forgot a piece of personal good news....my wonderful hubby is finally in the process of being hired on at his current job after 8 months of being a contractor there!!!! I am so proud of him for sticking it out :)

Tagged....

I have been tagged by my best bud Pam (Thanks again for Saturday night, YOU ROCK!!!)
So, here are a few things about me. Enjoy!!

The rules of the game: Each player answers the questions themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 4 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment letting them know that they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answers.

Ten years ago....
I was 21 years old living in Littleton Colorado. I had one little girl who was 19 months old and was pregnant with my second daughter (gosh, she is already almost 10!!!!)

Five things on today's "to do list"
Laundry
Dishes
Go swimming
Give oldest child lines to write that include, not lying to parents and not leaving the house without permission to walk to McDonald's with friends while leaving younger child home alone!!!
Play some tennis or maybe go to the driving range and hit some golf balls

Snacks I enjoy
I enjoy buttery popcorn with peanut m&m's, especially when they get a little melted....tastes just like chocolate chip cookies!!!!

Things I would do if I was a millionaire
I would take my family on a nice vacation, buy a smallish house near London (maybe Surrey)with a grand stamp room and have someone else clean it for me....

Places I have lived
I was born in Pennsylvania, have lived in Colorado since I was about 3 months old.

I am tagging...

Ginger (Mom)
and anyone else who wants to play along :)

Laura Sketch #2

Here is my take on Laura's second card sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. The twill that I used is very bulky, so I guess this is a card I will just have to hand deliver to someone special :) I LOVE the colors of this card, so fresh and clean. I could have added some flowers or some other type of bling, but I really love to make very simple cards. The blue paper is some of my favorite and I do have the same pattern in a few other colors, so you might see a lot more of it over the next week or so. I am going to go back and try to do up some other sketches and color challenges over the next week too, I need to force my mojo to come back and stay!!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I am going to be busy myself with a day at Boondocks and the crop with Pam from Paper Askew tomorrow and a pool party at my place on Sunday.

I almost forgot to mention the NEW CM PUNCH!!!! The tags on the card are from the newest punch, and I just LOVE it! I am also using it in my Christmas album for the year on the beginning page of each year. Let's hope that after tomorrow night I will have some more pages to share with you all.

Supplies:
Creative Memories Tag Maker, storybox green paper
Scissor Sister Flower Paper
Sahara Sand SU Paper
Misc. Twill Ribbon

Blah.....

I want to be creative right now, but it is just not coming to me at all. As soon as I sit down to do something, my mind is just shutting down. Kind of feels like an emotional funk more than just creative, so I found something else to do to "escape". Thanks to Dawn McVey I found a few books (I read the Trish Perry book and the second one she wrote also) to read that I have gone through so fast I am kind of sad :) I also got a book from a very dear friend of mine that is a scrapbooking novel.....and so far I LOVE it too. A Page Out Of Life is the title of the book, if you are not sure you have time to scrapbook, you NEED to read this book. Maybe once I finish this book (that I started yesterday around 6pm and will probably finish sometime today) I will get the need to create something, or maybe I will just get another set of books and read some more. It is kind of nice to escape into someone else's world for awhile....

Father's Day Cards

Of course, a day late but here they are. Also, the one I gave away I only got a blurry picture of, but you will get the idea of it. I have found that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Storyboxes from Creative Memories!!!! They are mats you can use for backing photos on pages or on cards like I have done, and you get almost 100 pieces for only $10.50!!! There are so many color combos in each set that work together.....did I mention that I LOVE it? I hope you all have a wonderful day and thanks for all the wonderful comments.....makes my day!!!!

2 sketches 4 you #1 Kazan

This sketch was a little hard for me to work with, I am not one who likes to use a lot of layers on a card. With that being said, I LOVE the way this card turned out with all the different patterns and colors :) Thank you Kazan for forcing me to branch out a bit!!!! I don't usually use buttons on cards either as I usually send my cards out in the mail, so I "made" my own flat buttons. I am so excited to have found out about this blog and hope that you all will check it out as well, just remember to get them in on Saturday night unlike me on a Sunday morning :)

2 sketches 4 you #1 Laura

I am so excited to know that there is another blog with weekly sketches on it, they will be switching each week! Laura and Kazan are very talented so I know these sketches will always be great to work with, please check out their blog 2 sketches 4 you and play along too :) Here is my first of the two cards for this weeks sketches. I FINALLY got a Cuttlebug last weekend and just had to use it for the first card which is from Laura's sketch. The colors are really great together and I hope you can see the bling in some of the circles on the background (I am not noticing them at all on the picture, but they are there and really finish it off) I was not finding a happy birthday stamp that was small enough to fit the punch, so I wrote the sentiment and love the way it turned out. Thanks girls for a couple of great sketches, can't wait for the next round!!!!

Thank You gift

***Updated.....make sure to check out the previous post to see what I have done with my very first 1 picture layout!!!!!*******

Hello again! I hope you are all doing well today and are ready for the weekend, I know I am! This is a little gift I made for the girls' bus driver, nothing much but I know he appreciated it just like I appreciated all the safe trips he made with my little ones aboard :) I made similar boxes for the teachers and a little something else too, I might share that another time. I found the template for the nugget boxes by typing in that title on google, of course I can't remember her name, but THANK YOU for doing all that hard work for me!!!! I hope you enjoy this little treat box and come back to see what else I can get myself into over the weekend. I am trying out for the Eye-Lets Etc. design team so I need to get busy on those samples....wish me luck!!!

**I was playing with the clone tool in adobe pse to cover up the little note we put on the box for the bus driver, that is why it looks all funky above the label ;)
